About ParaWomen
ParaWomen is a community born from a simple but powerful idea: women in paragliding deserve a space of their own.
Founded by Susan Rowbottom, ParaWomen exists to bring together women across the paragliding community, from curious beginners taking their first steps into free flight, to seasoned pilots chasing ridgelines and thermals. Paragliding has long been a male-dominated sport, and while that's slowly changing, women navigating it often find themselves in the minority, whether at the training hill, on the radio, or at the landing zone.
ParaWomen changes that dynamic. This is a space where women can ask questions without hesitation, share hard-won experience, celebrate each other's milestones, and grow together as pilots and as a community. It's peer support, mentorship, and camaraderie, all grounded in a shared love of the sky.
We believe women fly better when they have each other. Welcome to ParaWomen.
